Frédéric Bonora

As a child, he devoured film magazines and dreamed of being an “expert in special effects”. Born in 1973 in Saint-Tropez, Frédéric Bonora worked for 14 years as a small hand in film set teams, in the south of France and then in Paris, on large productions.

This experience gave him the desire to create. In 2009, he enrolled at the Centre de formation professionnelle aux techniques du spectacle (CFPTS) in Bagnolet where he learned the trade of locksmith before opening his own workshop in Grimaud the following year. But between two appointments, he began to create with metal scraps and the agricultural equipment of his grandfather, a wine grower.

Fascinated by the play of balance, spirals, and oriental calligraphy, he set about putting the material in motion and combining copper, steel and brass. Little by little, the works become larger, tailored to his scale. Like Tablette, this 3-meter-high tablet exhibited in the park of Château Charleval, inspired by the first writings of humanity, cut freehand in steel and illuminated at nightfall.

Château Charleval accueille l’exposition « Seasons of heaven », qui réunit les deux artistes, Aurélia Rocher et Joanna Cutri. Céramiques et toiles contemporaines se répondent et questionnent notre lien à la Mémoire et la Nature.
